The LANAP® Protocol is the world’s first and only FDA clearance for true periodontal regeneration based on human histologic studies using the PerioLase® MVP-7™, a free-running pulsed Nd:YAG laser.
No other laser device or therapy has human histologic studies that show periodontal regeneration – true regeneration of the attachment apparatus (new cementum, new periodontal ligament and new alveolar bone) on a previously diseased root surface when used specifically in the LANAP® Protocol.
LANAP uses your own biological healing process to achieve true regeneration. No stitches, membranes or bone grafts involved!
LANAP is one of the most successful protocols in treating gum disease because it can target the source of the inflammation without hurting or removing any healthy gum tissue, slow or stop attachment loss, decrease pocket depth, and allow the body to recover from the chronic infection without the need for a scalpel or sutures.
You can’t change physics! The success of the LANAP® Protocol is rooted in laser physics and the unique interaction between the tissue in the mouth and the variable pulsed wavelength of the PerioLase® MVP-7™ 1064 Nd:YAG dental laser.
The 1064 wavelength passes through water and hydroxyapatite but is absorbed in melanin and hemoglobin. Simply put, the wavelength targets the diseased tissue without harming healthy tissue.
The laser light penetrates 4 mm beyond the tissue surface to effectively kill bacteria. Once the site is clean, the laser interacts with the hemoglobin to establish a stable fibrin clot, creating a closed and sealed system for regeneration to begin.
LAPIP™ stands for “Laser-Assisted Peri-Implant Procedure” and is designed to address the growing prevalence of ailing and failing implants as a result of peri-implantitis.
Available only using the unique wavelength and specific configurations of the PerioLase® MVP-7™, the patented LAPIP™ Protocol is effective at eliminating inflammation and facilitating bone regeneration.
Backed by extensive scientific evidence, the LAPIP™ Protocol is a tissue-sparing, regenerative approach to treatment, targeting diseased tissue while leaving native tissues intact. In fact, studies indicate that 94% of failing implants treated with the LAPIP™ Protocol have reintegrated in the pocket.
The LAPIP™ Protocol helps maintain crestal tissue height while increasing crestal bone mass around the implant. The protocol is effective at removing titanium corrosion contaminates in the soft tissue wall while creating a clean, sealed, closed environment for wound healing and bone regeneration.
The PerioLase® MVP-7™ is a 6-watt free-running variable pulsed Nd:YAG dental laser featuring digital technology and 7 pulse durations — the most available on the market — to treat gum disease and regenerate the bone and tissues destroyed by periodontitis. It is the most powerful dental laser that can perform a variety of functions, including:
